The team works to inform the MIT community of issues relating to poverty and what people are doing to combat it.
Each year, we plan Poverty Action Week, where we invite experts working in the field to speak and present about their experiences. Poverty Action Week culminates with the International Development Hackathon, where students work on projects proposed by organizations in international development.
Last year's Poverty Action Week focused on the Millennium Development Goals, with topics in sustainability, global health, and human rights. Topics in previous years have included microfinancing, policymaking, and improving world health.
